Box Score Harding used 52 percent shooting from the field as the Bisons beat Henderson State 74-61, Thursday at the Duke Wells Center in Arkadelphia, Ark.
Henderson State, 8-10 overall and 5-7 in the Great American Conference, shot just 26 percent in the second-half hitting on 7-for-27 in the field.
Harding, 10-8 overall and 8-4 in league play, jumped out to an early 13-5 lead behind 10 points by Andraz Kavas.
The Bisons led by as many as 11 before the Reddies
Rashad Perkins and
Kelvin Dixon combined to score 10 points as Henderson cut the deficit to 33-32 with 4:26 left in the half.
Henderson trailed 38-36 with 2:35 remaining in the half, but the Bisons closed out the first 20 minutes with a 9-2 run to take a 47-38 lead at the break.
Harding would lead by as many as 17 in the second half as Henderson could not get into any offensive rhythm.
Rashad Perkins scored 15 points and pulled down 8 rebounds to lead Henderson State, while
Reggie Murphy totaled 10 points and
Aaron Cooper and
Micah Walker scored 9 points each.
Harding had four players in double-figures with Kavas leading the way with 20 points while Blake McNair followed with 15.
Henderson ended the night hitting 21-of-54 from the field for 39 percent shooting as the Bisons hit on 31-of-60 from the field including 8-of-21 from beyond the arc.
The Reddies will travel to Monticello, Ark. on Saturday to take on Arkansas-Monticello with tipoff set for 4 p.m.
