Reddies Basketball To Play Host to Texas A&M Commerce

The Henderson State men's basketball team will play its final game before the holiday break as the Reddies play host to Texas A&M-Commerce on Saturday with the opening tip set for 1 p.m. at the Duke Wells Center.
 
Admission for the game is free.
 
Henderson State enters the game having won its last two contests improving to 2-6 on the season.
 
In their three home games, the Reddies are averaging 74.7 points per game while shooting a stout 48 percent from the field.
 
Kevin Kozan has scored 20 or more points in the last three games and is now averaging 16.6 points per game. The junior from New Lenox, Ill. is hitting 40 percent from 3-point range leading the team with 22-of-55 from beyond the arc.
 
Matt Panaggio has made his move and is averaging 15.0 points and 6.7 rebounds per contest in the last three games. The sophomore from Port Orange, Fla. had a career-high 19 points in Henderson's previous game against Texas College.
 
Guard Eric Daily is averaging 7.3 points per game this season including 12.7 points in Henderson's home contests.
 
Texas A&M-Commerce has a 8-2 record and will playing its fifth game in nine days.
 
The Lions have won five straight including a pair of wins over Harding, victories over Ouachita Baptist and East Central, and a 111-60 win over Southwestern College this past Wednesday.
 
An explosive team, the Lions average 89.4 points per game and are out-scoring their opponents by nearly 13 points per game.
 
Leading the charge is Bryant Crowder who is scoring 16.0 points while pulling down 7.5 rebounds per game.
 
Texas A&M-Commerce has several 3-point shooters including Anthony Adams who is scoring 13.0 points per contest while shooting 36 percent from long range.
 
Both JR Owens and Isaac Asrat lead the team from beyond the arc with 15 3-pointers each. Owens averages 9.7 points while hitting 15-of-46 trifectas. Asrat has nailed 15-of-34 from 3-point range for 44 percent.
