Reddies To Face First-Place Bisons On Saturday

Henderson State hits the road to take on Great American Conference leader Harding, Saturday in Searcy with the opening tip set for 7:30 p.m. Harding's game with Southern Arkansas on Thursday was postponed and moved to Monday.  

Henderson shot a blistering 74 percent in the second half to beat Arkansas Tech 89-80 on Thursday and end a four-game losing skid. The Reddies, 4-11 overall and 3-7 in the GAC, hit on 17-of-23 field goals in the second half and had six players score double-figures against the Wonder Boys.
 
Kevin Kozan scored 18 points to record his 12th game in double figures this season. The junior from New Lenox, Ill. leads the Reddies in scoring averaging 15.0 point per game while hitting 44 percent from 3-point range.
 
Tavian Pomlee had a career-high 18 points against ATU and is now averaging 10.8 points along with 4.9 rebounds per game.
 
Kaylon Tappin totaled 12 points and five assists to improve his average to 13.4 points per contest. Tappin has averaged 16.0 points per game in the last four contests including a career-high 32 points against Arkansas-Monticello.       

Zydrunas Jurgutis has averaged 13 points in the last two games and has made 9-of-10 field goals including seven 3-pointers.
 
Harding enters the game 8-6 overall and sits atop the GAC standings with a 7-2 conference record. The Bisons are coming off a 102-83 road victory over Arkansas Tech on Monday in Russellville. Harding made 19 3-pointers.
 
Harding leads the GAC and ranks 13th in NCAA II with 10.6 3-pointers per game. Harding has shot 49 percent from the field in GAC games and has made 31 more 3-pointers than its opponents (94-63).
 
The Bisons are led by Jacob Gibson who is scoring 13.6 points per game.
 
Blake McNair follows averaging 12.7 points per contest. McNair shoots 51 percent from beyond the 3-point arc hitting 39-of-76 attempts. Will Francis also averages double-figures scoring 12.6 points per contest. Francis shoots 49 percent and 81 percent from the foul line.  

Henderson leads the all-time series with the Bisons having a 73-43 advantage in a series which dates back to 1957. Harding has won the last three meetings and 12 of the last 15 meetings. The Reddies are 29-26 in games played in Searcy.

Saturday's double-header will be carried on 106.9 FM KYXK Arkadelphia/Gurdon with R.J. Hawk (@RJHawk) providing the play-by-play. Color commentary for the women's game provided by Athletics Media Relations Assistant Hunter Lively (@HLively). Former Reddie player and coach Grady Bean will provide the color commentary for the men's game.
 
The Domino's pregame show will air 5:15 p.m. with the women's game set for 5:30 p.m.
