Henderson State will attempt to end its three-game losing streak as the Reddies play host to Arkansas-Monticello on Saturday with tip off set for 3 p.m. at the Duke Wells Center.

The Reddies, 5-16 overall and 4-12 in the Great American Conference, will be looking to avenge an earlier 79-71 loss to the Boll Weevils in Monticello back on January 16.          Â

Henderson is averaging 67.2 points per game including just 57.0 points per contest in the last three games. The Reddies are the top scoring defense in the league allowing 72.0 points per game.             Â
Kaylon Tappin leads the Reddies in scoring averaging 14.1 points per contest. Tappin scored a career-high 32 points in the first game against UAM hitting 11-of-16 field goals. The sophomore from Little Rock scored 11 points on Thursday against the Muleriders.

Kevin Kozan follows averaging 12.6 points per contest after being limited to a season low 2 points against SAU. Kozan totaled 12 points a month ago against UAM.  Â
Tavian Pomlee scored 11 points last time out and is averaging 9.9 points per contest.   Â
Arkansas-Monticello enters the contest with a 7-15 record overall and are 5-11 in league play following an 82-78 loss at Harding on Thursday. The Weevils are 2-9 on the road this season.

The Weevils average 74.7 points per game offensively and are shooting 45 percent from the field.

UAM is loaded with numerous transfers including Richard Benedyth who leads the team averaging 15.5 points per contest while also having a team best 76.

Jamal Peterson follows averaging 14.0 points per game. The senior from Las Vegas collected 17 points earlier this year against Henderson while knocking down 5-of-10 3-point field goals.    Â
Vicktor Arnick also averages double-figures scoring 10.7 points per game. Arnick scored a game-high 24 points in the first game against the Reddies. Â
Henderson leads the all-time series with Arkansas-Monticello having a 91-61 advantage in a series which dates back to 1910. The Reddies have won three of the last four meetings. UAM has a 5-4 record in GAC contests against the Reddies, with HSU winning once in the GAC Tournament.
Earlier this year, UAM used a late second half run to beat the Reddies 79-71.
With Henderson leading 60-54, the Weevils went on a 19-1 spurt including making eight straight field goals to record the win.
