Reddies Aim For Third Road Win Saturday

Henderson State win attempt to win its third road game of the season as the Reddies travel to Bethany, Okla. to take on Southern Nazarene on Saturday with tip off set for 3 p.m.       
           
Henderson snapped a four-game losing skid on Thursday with an 84-75 victory over Oklahoma Baptist to improve to 12-6 on the season and 7-5 in league play.
 
Henderson scored 80 plus points for the first time in six games. The Reddies are 10-0 this season when scoring 80 or more points in a game.
 
Chris Hawkins scored a career-high 27 points in the win over Oklahoma Baptist increasing his season average to 13.2 points per game including 15.9 points against Oklahoma opponents including 12 points in the first game against the Crimson Storm.     

Ben Marello fell one-point shy of his career-high on Thursday ending the game with 18 points. The sophomore from Port Orange, Fla. averages 10.5 points in GAC play.        

Kaylon Tappin was only 3-for-7 from the field but still managed to score 12 points and total seven rebounds against OKBU. The junior from Little Rock is averaging 15.6 points per game. Tappin scored 20 points earlier this year against SNU.
                       
Southern Nazarene enters the game with a 9-8 record overall and 6-5 in GAC play. The Crimson Storm is coming off an 84-78 win over Ouachita Baptist on Thursday in a game in which four players scored double-figures for SNU.
             
SNU averages 75.2 points per game while shooting 46 percent from the field. The Storm has been very good at home having a 7-2 record at the Sawyer Center including a 4-1 mark in GAC play with the lone home league loss being an 89-72 setback to East Central.

Jhonathan Dunn leads the team averaging 12.2 points per game including a game-high 18 points on Thursday against the Tigers. The freshman from San Antonio, Texas has compiled 35 points in the last two games.

Deshon Portley is the Storm's top 3-point shooter having made 37 trifectas while averaging 11.8 points per contest. The senior from Plano, Texas shoots 34 percent from beyond the arc and 83 percent from the foul line. 

LB Willis is scoring 11.8 points and leads the team with 57 assists and 36 steals. The senior from Dallas, Texas scored a game-high 19 points in the first game against the Reddies including 8-of-10 from the foul line.    

Noah Starkey is also scoring in double-figures at 10.7 points per outing while averaging a team-best 7.2 rebounds. Starkey turned in a double-double performance in the first game against the Reddies scoring 12 points while grabbing 13 caroms.
           
Southern Nazarene leads the all-time series having an 8-6 advantage over Henderson.           
However, the Reddies have a 5-4 advantage since the two teams became part of the GAC.
 
Saturday's double-header will be carried on 106.9 FM KYXK Arkadelphia/Gurdon with Robbie Aaron providing the play-by-play. HSU Sports Information Assistant David Salley will provide the color commentary.
 
The Domino's pregame show will air 12:45 p.m. with the women's game set for 1 p.m.
