Henderson State returns home Thursday as the Reddies play host to Southeastern Oklahoma with the opening tip set for 7:30 p.m. at the Duke Wells Center.
The game features the top defensive team in the GAC as the Storm allows just 68.4 points per game, against one of the top offensive teams in the league with the Reddies averaging 79.4 points per contest.
Henderson has a 12-7 record overall and a 7-6 league record after losing four of its last five games. In those five contests, the Reddies have averaged just 65.0 point per game while shooting 39 percent from the field.
Ben Marello has been Henderson's top performer lately, scoring 15.5 points per game in the last five games including 18 points in each of the last two contests. The sophomore from Port Orange, Fla. is averaging 10.3 points per game including 11.2 points against GAC competition.
Chris Hawkins is the only other Reddie that has averaged double-figures in the last five games averaging 12.6 points which included a career-high 27 points in the win over Oklahoma Baptist. Hawkins scored 24 points and collected 9 rebounds earlier this year against Southeastern.
Kaylon Tappin still leads the Reddies averaging 14.9 points. The junior from Little Rock scored 24 points which included 12-of-14 from the foul line in the first meeting against SOSU.
Southeastern Oklahoma enters the game with an 8-11 record overall and a 4-9 mark in GAC play. The Storm has lost back-to-back heartbreakers falling to Southern Arkansas 66-65 and a double-overtime loss to Arkansas-Monticello 77-75.
Anton Cook leads the team averaging 15.7 points per game including averaging 21.0 points in the last four games. The senior from Birmingham, Ala. leads the team with 43 three-point field goals. Cook scored 14 points in the first game against the Reddies.
Kevin Buckingham is also a 3-point scoring threat hitting 43.2 percent from the perimeter making 41-of-95 treys. The freshman from Keller, Texas averages 11.8 points per game while grabbing 5.5 rebounds.
Tyler Lonzie leads the team in rebounding averaging 7.6 boards per game including 8.2 caroms per contests in GAC games. The senior from Duncanville, Texas is scoring 7.6 points per game. Lonzie failed to score in the first game against Henderson and only pulled down a pair of rebounds.
Henderson State leads the all-time series having an 11-7 advantage over Southeastern Oklahoma including an 85-76 win in Durant back in December. Henderson has never lost to the Storm in games played in Arkadelphia with the Reddies having an 8-0 record.
Thursday's double-header will be carried on 106.9 FM KYXK Arkadelphia/Gurdon with Robbie Aaron providing the play-by-play. Former Reddie player and coach Grady Bean will provide the color commentary.
The Domino's pregame show will air 5:15 p.m. with the women's game set for 5:30 p.m.
