ARKADELPHIA, Ark. — Henderson State returns to Carpenter-Haygood Stadium and Ruggles Field looking for its first home victory of the season on Saturday when the Reddies take on Oklahoma Baptist at 2 p.m.

TOP STORYLINES: SETTING THE SCENE
- The Reddies (2-3) have uncharacteristically struggled at home as of late. Henderson is just 1-7 in its last eight home games, dating back to 2016. HSU defeated Southern Arkansas 36-30 last season on Oct. 28. The last home win for the Reddies before that came on Oct. 29, 2016, against Oklahoma Baptist.

- This is the fourth meeting all-time between the Bison and the Reddies. Henderson leads the series 3-0 and has never lost to OKBU since it joined the GAC.

- The matchup Saturday features two of the best quarterbacks in the GAC. Richard Stammetti of Henderson led the conference in passing yards and passing yards per game for the first four weeks of the season but was overtaken this weekend by Oklahoma Baptist's Preston Haire, who now leads the league in both categories.

- Saturday could be a shootout, as both teams have been inconsistent defensively this year. Henderson ranks 11th in the GAC in total defense and allows 410.4 yards per game to opponents, while OKBU is last in the league in total defense and gives up 455 yards per game.

REDDIES REPORT
- Running back Querale Hall was the breakout performer in the Reddies' win over SNU. After carrying the ball just five times all year coming into the game, Hall toted the ball 15 times for 85 yards and his first touchdown of the year to lead the Henderson rushing attack. His 85 yards were the second-most by a Reddies' back in a single game this season.

- Stammetti continues to get it done under center for Henderson. He is third in the GAC in both passing yards (1435) and passing yards per game (287). He's thrown for over 300 yards in three games already this season.

- Linebacker Kahlil Mitchell continued his strong play of late against the Crimson Storm. Mitchell had six tackles, a tackle for loss and a crucial forced fumble against SNU. He has a team-high 4.5 tackles for loss this year and has registered a tackle for loss in four of Henderson's five games this season.

- It was a milestone day for receiver Ben Johnson last Saturday. With 76 receiving yards against SNU, Johnson moved into the Top-10 all-time at Henderson in career receiving yards (1323). Johnson needs just 51 more yards to surpass Joseph Snapp for ninth all-time at HSU. He is tied for the league-lead in receiving touchdowns with four this year, while he and fellow receiver John Murray are tied for third in the GAC in receptions with 30 each.

- The Reddies' defense came up huge in the second half last weekend against the Crimson Storm and held SNU to just 69 total yards in the second half. The defense also forced two crucial turnovers deep in SNU territory which led to the game-winning scores in the third and fourth quarter. The two touchdowns off of Crimson Storm turnovers now account for more than half of Henderson's 24 points off of turnovers this season.

- Henderson is the second-least penalized team in the league and averages just 48.6 penalty yards per game.

- Lately, the Reddies have found themselves in very tight contests. The win over SNU last Saturday was Henderson's first win by more than one score in over a year. The last such win came against SWOSU on Sept. 23, 2017. Outside of the 2018 season opener against Harding, every other game the Reddies have played in the last calendar year has been a one-score game.

- The Reddies boast the fifth-best scoring offense in the league and average 26.8 points and 388.2 yards per game. Henderson is third in the GAC in passing offense with an average of 287 yards per game.

- For the superstitious, beware: Saturday is Hall of Honor day for Henderson State and the last two Hall of Honor games have not been kind to the Reddies. Henderson fell last season 42-24 to SNU on Hall of Honor recognition day, while Harding defeated the Reddies 35-3 in 2016 on Hall of Honor day.

- HSU has forced at least one turnover in every game this season, but still finds itself on the wrong side of the turnover margin this year (-4). The Reddies are 2-0 this season when they force more than one turnover.

SCOUTING OKLAHOMA BAPTIST
- Oklahoma Baptist enters Saturday's contest 2-3 overall. The Bison were picked last in the GAC preseason coaches poll, but shocked the conference by starting the season 2-0 with wins over East Central and Southeastern Oklahoma State. They have struggled since the hot start, however, and have dropped their last three games.

- The Bison have a dynamic passing attack, led by sophomore quarterback Preston Haire, who leads the GAC in passing yards (1458), passing yards per game (291.6) and total offense (1558). Haire 's favorite weapon is senior receiver Cagney Roberson, who leads the conference in receptions (37) and is fifth in receiving yards (409). Defensively, OKBU is led by defensive back Felipe Alvear, who has 49 tackles on the season, as well as defensive lineman Robert Lolofie, who has a team-high 3.5 tackles for loss and two sacks.

- OKBU has struggled to run the ball and stop the run so far this season. The Bison are last in the GAC in rushing yards per game (96.4) and last in rush defense, where they allow 269.8 rushing yards per contest.

- Haire broke two Oklahoma Baptist single-game school records last week in the Bison's 55-45 loss to Southern Arkansas with 476 passing yards and five touchdown passes. His performance was the first 400-yard passing game in school history.

- Oklahoma Baptist has given Henderson a run for its money in two of the previous three meetings. The Reddies 2015 GAC title team escaped OKBU 22-14 to clinch the conference title three seasons ago, while the 2017 squad brought home a narrow 14-13 win from Shawnee last year.

LAST YEAR'S MEETING
- Henderson State escaped Shawnee, Oklahoma, last season with a 14-13 win over Oklahoma Baptist. The win moved the Reddies to 3-3 on the year and preserved a 29-game road winning streak.

- The Bison scored a touchdown with less than 10 seconds remaining in the game and the ensuing extra point would have tied it and sent the game to overtime, but OKBU elected to run a fake instead, which was fumbled and fell short, preserving the win for Henderson.

- Evan Lassiter threw for 182 yards and connected with 10 different receivers in the win. Henderson out-gained the Bison on the ground 212-66.

- Haire hurt HSU through the air in the loss with 267 yards passing and two passing touchdowns.

FAMILY DAY INFORMATION
- Saturday's game is Family Day on the Henderson State campus, which will feature activities for fans of all ages at the Duke Wells Center. Family day was originally set for Sept. 22, but heavy rains forced the event to be rescheduled.

- Check-in begins at the front of Wells Gymnasium at 10:30 a.m., as do games and activities in the East Wells parking lot. Among the attractions are a live DJ, a photo booth, a dunk tank, face painting, bouncy houses, an obstacle course and a rock climbing wall.

- Beginning at 11 a.m. families can take advantage of tailgate opportunities to purchase food before the game. The Tailgate menu features a variety of options, including, but not limited to, smoked sausage, bratwurst, grilled chicken sandwiches, baked beans, coleslaw, assorted chips, as well as bottled water and soda options. The shuttles will also run up to an hour after the game ends, allowing fans to board at the main gate as they exit and ride back to their cars on campus.

-For Reddie Club members, Red and Gray reserved lots are located directly behind the main stands and above Clyde Berry Field. These lots require your Reddie Club parking passes. Handicapped parking is also available in the Red and Gray lot directly behind the main stands.
