ARKADELPHIA, Ark. — Henderson State will look to make it five-in-a-row over an instate rival and improve to 2-0 in conference play on Saturday when the Reddies host Arkansas Tech at 3 p.m. in the Duke Wells Center.
REDDIES REPORT
- The Reddies (4-1, 1-0) opened their GAC slate in style on Thursday with a dominant 58-41 victory over rival Southern Arkansas. The defense was the story for HSU, as it held the Muleriders to just 23.5% shooting from the floor on the night. SAU's 41 points were the lowest amount by a Reddie opponent of any kind since 2006.
- Chris Parker once again led Henderson in scoring, as he has in all five games so far this year, with 15 points on 6-for-12 shooting. Parker is averaging 17.4 points per game which ranks 11th in the GAC. Parker has scored 857 points just over halfway through his career at HSU and is on pace to finish in the Top-10 all-time at the school in scoring.
- Raekwon Rogers also had a terrific game against the Muleriders and pulled down a career-high 16 rebounds to go along with his eight points and three blocks. The always active Rogers is averaging 9.4 points and 8.6 rebounds per game this season in just over 22 minutes per contest. He is fourth in the GAC in rebounds per game and is second in the conference with 19 offensive boards on the year.
- Henderson's defense, which was spectacular against the Muleriders, is best in the league at the moment statically. The Reddies are No. 1 in the GAC in scoring defense (66.2 points per game allowed) and field goal percentage defense (37.6% shooting for opponents). HSU is the only school in the league holding its competition to a shooting percentage of under 40%.
- HSU is looking to build on its recent success against Arkansas Tech on Saturday. The Reddies have won the last four meetings with Tech after sweeping the season series in both 2017-18 and 2018-19. Prior to its four-game win streak, Henderson had won just three times against ATU since 2011.
SCOUTING ARKANSAS TECH

- Arkansas Tech is led by junior guard RJ Glasper, who is fourth in the GAC in scoring (21 points per game) and second in assists (8.0 per game). Glasper had 24 points in the win over Ouachita Baptist on Thursday and is shooting 50.8% from the field, 45.2% from the 3-point line and 100% at the stripe so far this season.
- ATU is the best 3-point shooting team in the conference percentage-wise. The Wonder Boys are shooting 40.2% from beyond the arc as a team this year. Tech shot 993 3-pointers as a team last season — and average of over 35 per game.
