ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – The Red Wave swam valiantly against Delta State on Friday afternoon, but were unable to keep pace with both the Statesmen and Lady Statesmen, as DSU won both the men's and women's meets at the Wells Natatorium. The HSU men fell 197-97 while the women were defeated 176-112.

Elam Fulton picked up the Red Wave's first win of the night in the 50-yard freestyle, touching the wall in 24.48. Fulton doubled her win total just minutes later when she topped the podium in the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 53.39. Later in the evening, Henderson's team of
Amy Brandenburg,
Emily Chen,
Claire Avery, and Fulton took first place in the 200-yard freestyle relay in a time of 1:41.41.

Oscar Patten picked up the first win for the men as HSU swept the 100-yard freestyle when the sophomore finished with a time of 47.83. The Red Wave made it back-to-back wins when freshman
Till Steyer took the top spot in the 200-yard backstroke in 1:53.21. Patten picked up his second first place finish of the evening minutes later when he won the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 4:48.26.

The Red Wave men also had success in the relays and took the top spot in the 200-yard freestyle relay, as
Tim Holt,
Ryan Brown,
Jason Seiner, and
Zach Hansen combined to take first in 1:26.70.

The Red Wave's next meet comes on Nov. 21-23 when both squads compete at the Trinity University Invitational in San Antonio, Texas.
