ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - Henderson State looks for its first Great American Conference Tournament win in five seasons on Friday when the Reddies face No. 4 seed Southern Arkansas in the GAC quarterfinals at 5:45 p.m. in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.

REDDIES REPORT
- Henderson (18-10, 13-9) wrapped up its best season since 2006-07 last Saturday with a 91-82 win on Senior Day against East Central. The win snapped a 10-game losing streak to the Tigers and was the Reddies' first victory over ECU since 2014. The victory gave HSU 13 GAC wins which is the most for the program since the inception of the league.

- The Reddies are making their first GAC Tournament appearance since 2015-16 when they lost to eventual champion East Central in the No. 1 vs. No. 8 game. Henderson has not won a GAC Tournament contest since 2014 when it won two games as the No. 6 seed before falling to Harding in double overtime in the title game, 93-86. HSU is 2-4 all-time in the GAC Tournament with both wins coming in 2014.

- Henderson's No. 5 seed and fifth-place conference finish is its second-best GAC mark ever and best since 2011-12 when the Reddies went 11-5 in conference play and were the No. 2 seed in the GAC Tournament, where they fell to No. 7 seed SWOSU.

- Two matchups this season produced two very different results between Henderson and Southern Arkansas. In the first GAC contest of the year for either team in Magnolia, SAU dominated and cruised to a 94-71 win. However, in the second meeting in Arkadelphia, the Reddies crushed the regionally-ranked Muleriders 82-63.

- HSU was one of just four teams in the conference to have three or more players named to the All-GAC teams on Wednesday night. Rel Johnson, Mike Fofana, and Chris Parker each earned Honorable Mention All-GAC recognition. It is the most players the Reddies have had honored in one season since 2011-12 when they also had three.

- Balanced scoring and a versatile offensive attack have been keys to the Reddies' success this season. Henderson has six players who average eight or more points per game, with Raekwon Rogers as the team's seventh-leading scorer at 7.9 points per game. Twelve different players on the roster have scored in double figures at some point this year.

- Rel Johnson led HSU in scoring this season (12.6 points per game), while Chris Parker (12 points per game), was nipping at his heels. Joshua Jones, who averages 11.6, came on strong down the stretch for the Reddies and scored in double figures in seven of Henderson's last nine games.

- Henderson was the second-best offensive rebounding team in the GAC this season and averaged 12.1 offensive boards per game in conference play. SAU was the league-leader with 12.9 offensive rebounds per contest. The Reddies finished third in the conference in field goal percentage defense and held league opponents to just 41.9 percent shooting.
