ARKADELPHIA, Ark. — The first hardwood edition of the Battle of the Ravine commences on Monday night, as Henderson State hosts rival Ouachita Baptist at 7 p.m. in the Duke Wells Center.

REDDIES REPORT
- A cold-shooting second half doomed Henderson State against SAU on Saturday, as the Reddies shot just 34.4% in the last 20 minutes and fell 68-66. Despite the tough shooting day, HSU had a chance to win in the final seconds on the road after cutting what was a 10-point deficit with two minutes left down to just a bucket.

- Henderson put together a strong defensive effort against the Muleriders and held Southern Arkansas to just 36.8% shooting in the game. The Reddies struggled from the outside, however, and finished just 3-for-22 from 3-point range after missing 19-straight to end the game. HSU's three made 3-pointers were the lowest for the team in a single game since Nov. 9, 2019 against Rogers State.

- The Reddies now rank fourth in the GAC in scoring offense (74.7 points per game), seventh in scoring defense (74.8), sixth in team field goal percentage (43.3%) and seventh in field goal percentage defense (42.9% shooting for opponents). HSU is tied for the league lead with 22 blocked shots in just six games.

- Newcomers Malik Riddle and Damian Dear have given Henderson a substantial boost offensively. Riddle has scored in double figures in every game so far this season, while Dear has scored 15 or more points in four of the Reddies' six games, including each of the last three contests. The pair have also been HSU's most consistent threats from beyond the arc and have combined to make 19 of Henderson's 39 3-pointers this year.

- HSU has had the upper-hand of late in the Battle of the Ravine basketball series. The Reddies have won the last four meetings and six of the last seven contests overall. Monday is the 211th game between the two programs all-time.

SCOUTING OUACHITA BAPTIST
- Ouachita Baptist enters Monday night's contest 1-2 on the year. The Tigers got their first win of the season on Saturday at home against Harding, 78-74. OBU has had four games canceled due to COVID-19 protocols.

- The Tigers are led by Leon Kalinic, who leads the team in both scoring (12 points per game) and rebounding (six rebounds per game) through three contests. Newcomer Deaveon Bankston had his best game for OBU against Harding and finished with 17 points on 6-for-8 shooting.

- OBU has struggled to shoot from the floor through three games this season. The Tigers rank 11th in the GAC in team field goal percentage (41%) and last in 3-point field goal percentage (22.8%). Ouachita is just 13-of-57 from beyond the arc in 2021. However, the Tigers are a strong rebounding squad thus far. OBU leads the GAC in rebounding defense (32 per game) and is second in offensive rebounds per game (15.7).
