GAME COVERAGE LINKS

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. -- Henderson State plays its final non-conference home game of the 2021-22 season on Wednesday when it welcomes MIAA foe Pittsburg State into the Duke Wells Center at 2 p.m.

***Admission to the afternoon contest is FREE for all spectators!***

REDDIES REPORT
- The Reddies (2-2) had their hearts broken on Saturday at Arkansas-Fort Smith. After Alvin Miles gave HSU an 80-78 lead with 10 seconds remaining in overtime, UAFS nailed a 3-pointer at the buzzer off of an offensive rebound to win it, 81-80. It was the second overtime contest in just four games for Henderson, who is now 1-1 in such games.

- Balanced scoring has been the staple of the Reddies' offensively thus far. Franck Kamgain leads HSU in scoring (10 points per game), but Henderson boasts eight players who are currently averaging seven or more points.

- As a team, the Reddies are shooting 43.6% from the floor and 37.9% from the 3-point line. HSU has turned the ball over 15 fewer times than its opponents and carries a turnover margin of +3.8. Defensively, Henderson has locked down the arc for its opponents, who are shooting just 27.7% (28-for-101) collectively against the Reddies.

- HSU has been excellent at home in recent years and is 31-8 inside the Duke Wells Center since 2018. The Reddies have not lost a non-conference game at home since 2015.

- The meeting is the fourth all-time between the two programs. HSU trails 1-2 in the series but won the last meeting 88-78 two seasons ago in Pittsburg, Kansas.

SCOUTING PITTSBURG STATE
- Pittsburg State of the MIAA comes to Arkadelphia on Wednesday 0-4 and in search of its first win this season. The Gorillas have played just one exhibition game at home so far this year and three of their four losses have come by less than 10 points.

- PSU's top scorer through four games is guard Iziah James, who averages 12.8 points per game. James is shooting a blistering 57.1% from 3-point range this season and is playing almost 32 minutes per game. Fellow guard Tyler Hawkins, as well as forward Cameron Huefner, both average over 11 points per game for the Gorillas.

- The Gorillas are led by head coach Kim Anderson, who is 56-60 in five years with the program. Prior to coming to Pittsburg, Kansas, Anderson was a Division I head coach in the SEC at Missouri. Before making the jump to DI, Anderson spent 12 years at Central Missouri, where he led the Mules to a 274-95 record and the 2014 national title.
