Winning Streaks Collide as Henderson Men Host SNU Monday

LIVE COVERAGE LINKS | GAME NOTES

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. — The programs with the two longest winning streaks in the GAC meet up on Monday night in Arkadelphia when Henderson State hosts Southern Nazarene at 6 p.m. The Reddies have won four-straight and SNU is riding a league-best six-game winning streak.

REDDIES REPORT
- HSU played perhaps its best game of the season on Saturday in an 84-73 win over then first-place Southeastern Oklahoma. The Reddies never trailed and shot 52% from the floor to hand the Savage Storm its biggest loss of the year. The victory improved Henderson to 7-3 in the conference and moved it up to second in the GAC standings.

- Tomislav Miholjcic became the first Reddie to lead the team in scoring in two-straight games this season with a career-high 16 points against SOSU. The native of Serbia has set a new career-high in scoring in each of his last two outings after scoring 13 in the win over UAM on the road two weeks ago.

- Malik Riddle, who leads the team in scoring for the year with an average of 10.7 points per game, came alive in the second half against Southeastern and scored all 13 of his points in the final 20 minutes of play. HSU is 7-2 this season when Riddle scores in double figures.

- As a team, Henderson State leads the GAC in field goal percentage defense (41.6%), 3-point field goal percentage defense (29.7%), steals per game (9.6) and turnover margin (+3.3). The Reddies are second in the league in scoring defense (64.8).

- SNU has won seven of the last nine meetings in the series between the two teams, but the Reddies have taken two of the last three, including a 60-57 win last season in the GAC Tournament. Monday is the first of two games between the programs this week.

SCOUTING SOUTHERN NAZARENE
- The Crimson Storm enter Monday's matchup 10-5 on the year and 5-4 in GAC play. SNU opened conference play 0-4, but have rallied to win six-straight games, including five-straight in the league. Southern Nazarene came back from a 17-point deficit to defeat Southern Arkansas 63-57 on Saturday.

- SNU is led in scoring by freshman guard Tyler McGhie, who has played just seven games, but averages 18.9 points per contest. Fellow guard Adokiye Iyaye was the 2021 GAC Newcomer of the Year and averages 15.4 points per game.

- Southern Nazarene ranks third in the GAC in scoring defense (65.5) and 11th in scoring offense (68.8). The Crimson Storm have several impressive wins during their winning streak, including a 20-point victory over current GAC leader Oklahoma Baptist and road wins over ECU, UAM and SAU.
