Henderson Travels to Tech for Friday Road Finale

LIVE COVERAGE LINKS | GAME NOTES

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. — Henderson State plays its final GAC road game of the regular season on Friday evening when it goes to Russellville to face Arkansas Tech at 5 p.m.

REDDIES REPORT
- The Reddies went 2-1 last week with two wins over East Central both at home and on the road in Ada, Oklahoma. HSU outlasted the Tigers 70-69 in overtime and then rolled past them 90-71 in the rematch at the Kerr Activities Center. Quawn Marshall poured in a career-high 26 points in the second game -- the most points by any Reddie player in a single game this season. He had 23 of the 26 in the first half.

- With only two games remaining in the regular season, Henderson has clinched its spot in the the GAC Tournament field for the fourth-straight season. HSU is currently 12-8 in the league and in a tie for fifth place with Southern Arkansas, who the Reddies have the head-to-head tiebreaker with. HSU could climb as high as the No. 4 seed and can drop no lower than the No. 7 seed. The Reddies' final two contests both come against teams who will not advance to the conference tournament: Arkansas Tech and Harding.

- Alvin Miles and Malik Riddle are tied for the HSU team scoring lead with an average of 10 points per game. They are the only two players who average double figures. If the season ended today, their 10 points per game would be lowest average for the team's scoring leader since 1960-61 when the stat was first established.

- Arkansas Tech won the early season matchup between the two teams at the Duke Wells Center 84-78 in overtime. It was just the second win for the Wonder Boys in the last 11 tries against Henderson. HSU has won four of the last five games played inside Tucker Coliseum, including two last season. The Reddies lead the all-time series 91-81 and Friday's matchup is the 173rd meeting between the programs since 1919.

SCOUTING ARKANSAS TECH
- Arkansas Tech enters Friday's contest 9-17 overall and 6-14 in GAC play. The Wonder Boys have lost three-straight games and five of their last six overall. With its loss to Southeastern Oklahoma on Tuesday and ECU's win at Ouachita, Tech has been eliminated from contention for the GAC Tournament.

- ATU's leading scorer and rebounder is forward Tony Hall, who averages 13.6 points and 7.3 rebounds per game. Hall has scored in double figures in nine-straight games and in 12 of the last 13 contests overall for Tech. Sharpshooter Cameron Kennedy averages 11.2 points and is shooting 46.1% from beyond the arc.

- The Wonder Boys were 5-5 before Christmas break, but lost star guard Czar Perry and struggled from that point onward. Tech is just 4-12 overall since Perry played his last game for ATU on Dec. 18 against Southern Arkansas.
