Henderson State 2024 Wins Battle for the Belt

HOT SPRINGS, Ark.  -   Henderson State's men's golf team sealed a Battle for the Belt tournament victory during Tuesday's final round of competition.

The Reddies claimed first place with a three-round score of 10-under 854. HSU's "B" squad took third by shooting par 864 as a group during the event, thanks in large part to a tournament-best 10-under 278 in the third round. Southern Arkansas clinched second place at one-under 863, while Arkansas Tech finished fourth with a score of two-over 866. Rogers State's Elliot Han Monteremal and Arkansas Tech's Tobey Kim tied for the best solo finish in the field.

Maxime Lam and Philipp Pakosch tied for Henderson's best individual score at four-under 212. Jacob Knowlton (three-under 213) and Alex Haden (two-under 214) also cracked the top 10. Colin Purifoy shot par 213 for the tournament, while Ratio Visuttipinate, Gus Fritz, and Ethan Wilkins all finished no more than five strokes over par.

Following Tuesday's win, the Reddies will have nearly a month to recuperate before the DBU Classic: the team's final tournament of the fall. The event will take place in Rockwall, Texas, beginning on Monday, October 28.
