ROCKWALL, Texas - Henderson State is in sixth place after competing in the first day of competition at the DBU Classic in Rockwell, Texas.
Over the course of Monday's two rounds, the Reddies shot a combined 22-over 598 as a team.
UT Tyler is in first place with a score of five-over 581, while Central Oklahoma trails the leading Patriots by a single stroke (six-over 582). UT Dallas (17-over 593) and St. Mary's (18-over 594) occupy third and fourth, respectively. Host Dallas Baptist rounds out the top five at 20-over 596.
Ethan Wilkins posted the Reddies' top individual score of the day by going four-over 148: a score currently tied for 17th in the tournament's individual standings. Philipp Pakosch, Cooper Williams, Maxime Lam all shot eight-over 152 or better to hold top 40 spots after day one. Ratio Visuttipinate, who is competing as independent, is close behind at nine-over 153.
Tomorrow, HSU will wrap up its time at the DBU Classic and, in turn, bring the fall portion of its 2024-25 schedule to a close. Tee time for the final round at Rockwall Golf and Athletic Club is slated for 8:30 a.m.
