Reddies to Host Christian Brothers in Final Home Game Before Conference Play

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – The Reddies will look to remain undefeated at home and extend their win streak to five versus Christian Brothers (3-1) on Saturday.
 
For the first time since the 2019-20 season, Henderson State begins the year 4-1 and is currently on a four-game winning streak. HSU is currently fifth in the nation in field goal percentage.
 
Led by their depth, the Reddies are currently outscoring opponents' benches by 127 points. Off the bench, the trio of Jamarion Brown, Braydon Redd, and Deazhon Perkins are averaging 28.2 points per game. Perkins is tied for the most points on the team, averaging 12.8 points per game through five games. Henderson's offense is currently top 20 in the country in scoring offense at 92.6 points per game.
 
Led by Brown and Mayes, HSU's defense is currently top 15 in NCAA Divsion II with 12.8 steals per game. Brown and Mayes are each averaging over 2 steals per game. The Reddie defense is turning into quick offense, with the team also ranking top 20 in the country in fastbreak points.
 
During the four-game winning streak, Henderson State is averaging 99.3 points per game and holding opponents to just 81.2 points per game: an 18-point differential.
 
Christian Brothers is coming off an eight-point victory over Harding. In the win, junior Jemeal Gaines scored 20 points and hauled in 13 rebounds. Christian Brothers shot 53.8 percent from deep in its win over the Bisons. The Buccaneers' lone loss came in the form of a three-point defeat at Northeastern State last week.
 
The Buccaneers' leading scorer, Jailen Anderson, is averaging 17 points per game and two steals per game. The CBU offense is averaging 78.5 points per game, outscoring their opponents by 5.3 points per game. On the boards, the Buccaneers are besting their opponents by 16.3 rebounds per game.
 
Buccaneers' opponents are shooting 43.1 percent from deep and making nearly four more three-point attempts than their opponents per game. In their three wins, the Buccaneers had a combined 35 more rebounds than their opponents.

Matthew Mayes posted a season-high nine assists in his last outing. He is tied for second on the team in points per game.
