2024-25 GAC BASKETBALL ALL-CONFERENCE AWARDS
FORT SMITH, Ark. — Four Henderson State men's basketball players were recognized at the 2024-25 GAC Basketball All-Conference Awards on Wednesday. Rondae Hill earned the conference's Freshman of the Year Award and an Honorable Mention Team nod, while Nehikhare Igiehon received Second Team All-GAC honors.
Hill, a true freshman from Shreveport, Louisiana, averaged 11.7 points per game, 2.9 assists per game, and 1.1 steals per game in his first season of collegiate basketball. The guard won a GAC Player of the Week Award on Feb. 24 after averaging 28.5 points per contest against Oklahoma Baptist and No. 20 Southern Nazarene the week prior. His 29 points versus SNU were the most scored by a freshman in a single GAC game during the 2024-25 campaign.
Igiehon garnered a reputation of consistent excellence throughout the season by averaging 17 points and seven rebounds per game in conference play - good for eighth and a tie of fifth in the league, respectively. The junior forward reached double figures in 20 of the Reddies' 22 conference contests in the regular season, including seven outings of 20 points or more. He never scored fewer than eight points in a GAC game.
Igiehon, Deazhon Perkins, and Braydon Redd each earned a spot on the GAC Academic Honor Roll.
HSU holds the No. 5 Seed in the 2025 GAC Tournament and is set to face No. 4 Oklahoma Baptist in a first-round matchup on Friday, Mar. 7. The game is slated to tip off at Fort Smith's Southside Arena at 5:45 p.m.
