FORT SMITH, Ark. — Henderson State's men's and women's golf teams are both atop their respective leaderboards after round one at the 2025 GAC Championships.
The Reddie women hold a nine-shot lead over the field after shooting 20-over 300 in the opening round of play on Monday at Hardscrabble Country Club. SWOSU and Arkansas Tech are tied in second place (+29) and Harding is 10 shots back of HSU (+30).
Henderson's men are also in first through 18 holes and turned in an opening round score of 1-over 281. They lead Arkansas Tech (+3) by two stokes and third place Harding (+12) by 11.
On the women's side, three Reddies are in the Top-10 overall. Lily Nelson is third after shooting 3-over 73, Madolyn Kost shot 4-over 74 with five birdies on the day and is in fifth, and GAC Player of the Year Felisa Sajulga is in sixth after carding a 5-over 75.
For the men, Ethan Wilkins and Maxime Lam are both tied for second place overall with score of 1-under 69. Wilkins had five birdies in his round and Lam had four on Monday. Philipp Pakosch is in seventh and shot 1-over 71 for the first 18 holes of play.
Henderson State is in search of its fifth-straight conference title for the women and fourth-straight leave championship for the men. Both teams tee off the second round tomorrow morning.
