DAY TWO PLAYER LEADERBOARD
ST. JOSEPH, Mo. — Henderson State shot the third best round of the day for round two of the Central/Midwest Regional at St. Joseph Country Club on Tuesday. The Reddies find themselves in a tie for twelfth place with three other schools; Central Oklahoma leads the tournament at 4-over par, 11 shots clear of second place Saginaw Valley State.
Ethan Wilkins led the way for HSU, shooting a 2-under par 69 on the day. The graduate student from Sussex, Wisconsin birdied each of his last two holes and eagled the par 5 eighth hole to overcome two early bogeys and improved his score from round one by seven strokes. Wilkins jumped 42 spots and sits in 16th place heading into the final day.
Philipp Pakosch shot an even par 71 on the day. Like Wilkins, Pakosch birdied each of the final two holes and birdied four total holes on the day to find himself 30th on the individual leaderboard.
Maxime Lam got off to a hot start, with a birdie-birdie start helping lead to a 2-over round of 72. The freshman made four birdies in total, climbing to 53rd place individually.
Jacob Knowlton carded a 3-over par 74 and
Alex Hadden shot a 9-over 80 to round out the Henderson State scoring for the day.
The Reddies have one final chance to play themselves into contention for the national tournament; the third and final round will tee off Saturday morning from St. Joseph, Missouri.
