Reddies Enter Saturday Game with Postseason Berth at Stake

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Reddie men's basketball team faces off against Harding Saturday in the final game of the regular season with multiple postseason implications still hanging in the balance. Tip-off from the Duke Wells Center is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.

Henderson State finishes the 2025-26 regular season with a home matchup against Harding. The Reddies can clinch a GAC Tournament berth with a win on Saturday or losses by Southern Arkansas and Southeastern Oklahoma State. HSU currently sits in a three-way tie for sixth place with Northwestern Oklahoma and Southwestern Oklahoma.

Henderson shot 47 percent from the field en route to a 79-74 win at Arkansas Tech on Thursday night to keep itself in the hunt for a postseason bid. Five of the eight spots have been clinched, with the final three being decided based upon Saturday's results.

The Reddies had three double-digit scorers in Thursday's win, led by a career-high 21 from Jameel Wesley II. The sophomore was 8-of-13 from the field and 3-of-4 from three-point range, scoring three of Henderson's four long-range field goals.

18 offensive rebounds let to 26 second-chance points for HSU and greatly aided in the 36 points in the paint scored by the Reddies. Conversely, Arkansas Tech had just 11 offensive rebounds, 13 second chance points, and 22 points in the paint.

Scouting Harding

Harding comes into Saturday's game on a 7-game winning streak; the Bisons are still fighting for seeding in next week's GAC Tournament and will be either the two or three-seed, depending on their result combined with Ouachita Baptist's matchup against Arkansas-Monticello.

The Bisons' offense is predominantly focused on its ability to shoot the three-pointer. Harding leads the league in three-pointers made and attempted, despite only shooting 33.1 percent from distance, eighth in the conference.

Harding ranks as the best offensive rebounding team in the league, pulling down 13.5 boards per game on their own missed shots. They also lead the league in rebounding margin, outrebounding their opponents by nearly eight per game.

Last Meeting: The Reddies (5-5, 2-2 GAC) never led and trailed by eight at halftime before Harding used a strong second-half push to create separation. Henderson State shot 40 percent from the field and 37.5 percent from 3-point range but was outscored 42-33 after the break and sent Harding to the free-throw line 26 times. Jameel Wesley II led Henderson State with 16 points.
