RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. - Senior Presley Applegate was named the Great American Conference Pitcher of the Week as announced by the league office on Monday.

The Pittsburg, Texas native went 2-0 during the final home series of the year against East Central. In her first appearance, Applegate pitched a complete game shutout, recording only four hits, and striking out nine batters of the 25 she faced. This performance clinched the series win for the Reddies.

Applegate then followed that up the following day, pitching 2.2 innings in relief in the final game of the series, giving up only three hits and one run to secure the series sweep for Henderson State.

For the year, Applegate has a 2.93 ERA, having pitched three shutouts, while striking out 105 batters she faced, which ranks sixth in the GAC. Her three saves on the season are tied for the most in the GAC.

Applegate and the Reddies (26-26, 15-18) head to the GAC Championship tournament this Thursday as the #7 seed. There they'll face #2 seed Southern Arkansas. Their playoff game is scheduled for 3:30 P.M. on Thursday, May 7th in Bentonville, Arkansas.
