History was made on Tuesday afternoon at the Bettye Wallace Tennis Center as the Henderson State Women's Tennis team picked up their first-ever conference win as a member of the Great American Conference (GAC) as they downed visiting Southern Arkansas by a team match score of 6-3.
The Lady Reddies (2-7, 1-0 GAC) took an early advantage in the team match as they collected wins in flights one and two doubles. The pairing of Sarah Camaras and Emily Eggleston won at flight one doubles, 8-4. Tyler Reaves and Tori Morehead followed suit at flight two doubles with an 8-3 decision. The Lady Reddies would drop flight three doubles, 2-8.
With the 2-1 advantage in the match heading into singles play, the Lady Reddies picked up wins in flights one, two, four, and five to earn the 6-3 team match victory. Camras, Reaves, Morehead, and newcomer Rachel Pierce collected singles wins.
