After suffering a disappointing opening round loss to Southwestern Oklahoma earlier in the day, Henderson State took out its frustrations on Ouachita Baptist beating the Lady Tigers 12-0 to advance to the third round of the Great American Conference Softball Tournament in Bentonville, Ark.
The Lady Reddies, 20-29 on the season, belted out 16 hits with four players having three hits each.
Amber Klug led the way for Henderson State going 3-for-4 with a home run and four RBI, while
Katey Gorsage also went 3-for-4 with a triple, home run and three runs driven home.
Sarah Gipson and
Amy Halter both went 3-for-4 with Gipson having a pair of RBI and Halter scoring three runs.
Kasey Carlock pitched five innings for Henderson State allowing just two hits, while striking out five batters and improving to 9-13 on the year.
Stephanie Johnson pitched the final inning and retired the side in order.
In the opener, Southwestern Oklahoma used a two-run first and a three-run fourth to beat the Lady Reddies 5-1.
Henderson managed just six hits in the game with Gorsage having two hits.
The Lady Reddies will next play Southeastern Oklahoma in an elimination game, Friday at 1 p.m.
