East Central Too Much for Henderson State Softball

Wilburn was 3-for-4 against ECU
Henderson State was not able to match the offensive attack of East Central in either game of Friday's doubleheader as they dropped both games by scores of 7-1 and 5-0 at Lady Tiger Field.

The Lady Reddies (15-26, 7-15 GAC) fell behind quickly in game one as the Lady Tigers (17-14, 7-9 GAC) scored three runs in the first inning and four more in the second inning to take a 7-0 lead. HSU got on the board in the top of the fourth behind a solo homerun off the bat of Katey Gorsage. ECU would score two more runs in the bottom of the frame to take a 9-1 lead. The Lady Reddies were held off the scoreboard in the top of the fifth, giving the Lady Tigers the five-inning victory.

Game two saw the Lady Reddies fall behind early once more as ECU scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the first. They would match that run total in the third inning and scored a single run in the fifth to take a 5-0 lead. East Central would go on to win by that margin to secure the sweep.

The two teams will be back in action for another doubleheader on Saturday, April 7th to conclude the four-game series. First pitch of game one is set for 11:00 a.m.
