Henderson State ended its six-game losing skid as the Lady Reddies beat Northwestern Oklahoma 54-51, Saturday in Alva, Okla.
Destiny Smith recorded her eighth double-double of the season scoring 13 points while pulling down 16 rebounds to lead the Lady Reddies.
Despite shooting just 32 percent from the field, the Lady Reddies overcame a 34-18 halftime deficit.
After making just 3-of-23 field goals in the first-half, Henderson State was 12-of-24 in the second-half and outscored the Rangers 36-17 in the final 20 minutes.
Northwestern Oklahoma, 6-17 overall and 5-12 in the GAC, shot 52 percent in the first-half to build its 16-point halftime lead, but the Lady Reddie defense limited NWOSU to just 24 percent shooting in the second half as the Rangers managed just 5-of-21 field goals.
Aungelique Sledge scored 10 points for the Lady Reddies, while
Krystal Beachum scored 9 points.
Macy Gibson led Northwestern Oklahoma with 13 points.
Henderson State, 11-13 overall and 6-12 in the GAC, will next play host to Ouachita Baptist on Thursday in the Southern Bancorp Battle of the Ravine with the opening tip set for 5:30 p.m. at the Duke Wells Center.
