Henderson State had its worst scoring game of the season as Southern Nazarene beat the Reddies 65-49, Thursday at the Duke Wells Center in Arkadelphia, Ark.
The Reddies, 10-10 overall and 5-9 in the Great American Conference, entered the game ranked second in the league in scoring averaging nearly 76 points per game. Henderson, however, managed to score just 21 points in the first-half and ended the game shooting just 38 percent from the field making 20-of-53 attempts.
SNU, 11-9 overall and 7-7 in league play, nailed 12 3-point field goals on 32 attempts for 38 percent from beyond the arc. Overall the Crimson Storm shot 43 percent from the field converting on 23-of-54 from the field.
Andrew Ensley led Henderson with 13 points, while
Melvin Haynes added 11.
Cory Henshall followed with 7 points and a game-high 13 rebounds.
Quan Conner led SNU with 26 points, while Garret Butler scored 17 points with the help of five 3-point field goals.
Henderson State, which began the night as the top team in the league in turnover margin, committed 20 turnovers
with SNU scoring 19 points off of the Reddie miscues.
The Reddies will next travel to Searcy, Ark. on Thursday, Feb. 14 to face Harding with tip off set for 7:30 p.m. at the Rhodes Fieldhouse.
