Arkansas Tech used a huge second half as the Wonder Boys beat the Reddies 77-44 Friday at the Great American Conference Men's Basketball Tournament in Bartlesville, Okla.
Henderson State trailed 31-21 at halftime but cut the deficit to just two possessions early in the half before Arkansas Tech put together an impressive 40-14 run that spanned the final 15 minutes of the game.
Second-Team All-GAC forward
Andrew Ensley led the Reddies with 13 points and six rebounds, while
Melvin Haynes scored 8 points.
Henderson State shot just 31 percent from the field converting on 15-of-48 field goals. The Reddies were 7-of-23 from 3-point range for 30 percent.
Jared Williamson led four Wonder Boys in double-figures scoring 25 points, while Tyler Friedel provided 14 points and six rebounds.
The Wonder Boys advanced to Saturday's semifinals where they will face Southwestern Oklahoma State at 6 p.m.
Henderson State ends the season with a 14-13 record.
