The Henderson State women's tennis team lost its opening round match to Harding 5-0, at the Great American Conference Championships in Bentonville, Ark.
Harding swept all three doubles matches and won individual matches at No. 1 and No. 6 singles to advance to the semifinals.
Harding's Ali Rowden and Benyapa Phumtip teamed to defeat
Sarah Camras and Brittany Harness 8-4 at No. 1 doubles.
At No. 2 doubles, Chelsea Lanier and Kaleigh Wagner beat Jenny Cecotti and
Tyler Reaves 8-4, while Katie Huff and Maria Moreno claimed victory over MJ Woodward and
Emily Eggleston 8-3 at No. 3 doubles.
In singles matches, Phumtip shutout Camras at No. 1 singles 6-0, 6-0, with Wagner defeating Eggleston at No. 6 singles, 6-1, 6-1 to end the match.
Following the match, the All-GAC team was released with Camras becoming the first Lady Reddie tennis player since 2010 to earn all-conference honors as she was named to the second team.
Camras played No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles for the Lady Reddies for the last two seasons. The native of Bismarck, Ark. teamed with Brittany Harness and recorded four wins on the year.
