ECU TIGER OFFENSE TOO MUCH FOR LADY REDDIES

The East Central Oklahoma softball team showed why they are the top hitting club in the Great American Conference as the Lady Tigers beat Henderson State 9-1 and 7-2, Friday at Dee White Field in Arkadelphia, Ark.

The Lady Tigers entered the weekend series with a .363 team batting average while hitting a league best 41 home runs.

ECU added improved to those numbers on Friday with 17 hits and a pair of home runs.

Henderson State, 17-23 overall and 11-11 in the GAC, managed just four hits in the opener with Kayla Williams leading the way with a RBI double.

 The Lady Reddies totaled five hits in the second game with Amber Wilburn providing all the scoring with a two-run home run. Sarah Gipson had two hits in the game.

East Central, 29-9 on the year and 15-5 in the GAC, was led by Gina Mengwasser having four hits and three RBI.

The two teams will finish the series with a double-header on Saturday beginning at Noon at Dee White Field.
