Henderson State will break from Great American Conference action as the Reddies travel to Wichita Falls, Texas to take on Midwestern State on Tuesday with the opening tip set for 7:30 p.m.

Midwestern State has won the last three Lone Star Conference championships and have advanced to the NCAA Division II Tournament the last six years including making Elite Eight appearance in 2010, 2011 and 2012.

Midwestern State enters the game with a 3-1 record on the year after a 68-57 win over Colorado State-Pueblo on Sunday.

The Mustangs average 76.8 points per game, while allowing 68.5 points per contest.

Bretson McNeal leads the team in scoring, averaging 18.5 points per game and has scored in double-figures in all four games this year. McNeal had a season-best 25 points in the season opener against Western State.

The junior guard from Minneapolis, Minn. has converted 11-of-24 3-point field goals.

Xavier Blackburn follows averaging 10.3 points per game while pulling down 8.3 rebounds per outing.

Also a threat is Hershell Grant who is scoring 9.0 points per game which includes a pair of 12 point performance against Colorado State-Pueblo and Oklahoma Science and Arts.Â

The Reddies bring a 2-2 record into the contest after an 88-75 loss to East Central last Saturday at the Duke Wells Center.

The Reddies are averaging 68.5 points per game and are shooting 45.8 percent from the field.

Reggie Murphy leads the Reddies in scoring averaging 16.8 points and 6.8 rebounds per game following his 18 point performance against the Tigers.Â

The senior from Los Angeles has converted on 29-of-43 shots from the field this year for a shooting percentage of .674.

Kevin Kozan has combined for 47 points the last three games and is averaging 11.8 points per game.

The product of New Lenox, Ill. is shooting 52.9 percent from the field, including 52.4 percent from beyond the arc making 11-of-21 3-point field goals.

Henderson State and Midwestern State have played four times with the Mustangs winning all four contests.

The first meeting was during the 1975-76 season. Midwestern beat the Reddies 86-76 on Dec. 22, 1975 in Arkadelphia, Ark.

The last time the two teams met was in Orlando, Fla. on Nov. 14, 2000 at the Walt Disney World Classic. MSU won 66-64.
