Henderson State will begin Great American Conference play this weekend as the Lady Reddie softball team plays host to East Central Oklahoma in a four-game series beginning Friday at 1 p.m. at Dee White Field.
The series will continue on Saturday with a double-header beginning at 11 a.m.
Henderson State, 4-7 overall, enters the weekend series with a .303 team batting average while averaging 5.3 runs per game.
Ashlyn White leads the Lady Reddie offense hitting .474 (9-for-19), having two home runs and seven RBI.
Tricia Hock follows White hitting .457 (16-for-35) having scored a team-leading 13 runs.
Henderson State will need solid pitching performances from
Kayla Williams,
Cagen Medlock and
Ashlyn White.
Williams is 1-3 on the season with a 3.80 earned run average, while Medlock has made five starts and is 1-1 on the year. White has appeared in seven games in the circle and has struck out 10 batters in 20 innings of work.
East Central, 8-5 on the year, is one of the top hitting teams in the GAC, sporting a .340 average while scoring 6.23 runs per contest.
Chelsea Patterson leads the team having a .500 average (15-for-30) while Autumn Suydam follows with a .474 average (18-of-38).
