Henderson State will look to move up in the Great American Conference standings as the Lady Reddie softball team will play host to Southwestern Oklahoma in a four-game series beginning at 1 p.m. Friday at Dee White Field.
Henderson State, 11-12 overall and 7-5 in the GAC, is tied for third-place in the league, while Southwestern Oklahoma enters the weekend with a 5-13 record overall and a 2-6 mark in the GAC.
The Lady Reddies are second in the league in hitting with a .332 average while scoring nearly 5.5 runs per game.
Ashlyn White leads the Lady Reddies with a .500 batting average which is also tops in the GAC.
The freshman from Longview, Texas has 22 runs batted in and a team-best three home runs.
Tricia Hock follows with a .406 average including 12 RBI, while
Sarah Gipson is hitting .380 with 20 runs driven in on the year.
Southwestern Oklahoma ranks last in the league in hitting with a .262 average.
Adrienne Martinez is the top hitter for the Lady Bulldogs and is eighth in the league with a .436 average including 11 doubles and 11 RBI.
The four-game series will conclude on Saturday with a double-header at Noon.
