East Central claimed a pair of doubles matches and three singles wins to beat Henderson State in the opening round of the Great American Conference Women's Tennis Championships in Bentonville, Ark.
 
The Lady Reddies claimed victory at No. 2 doubles as Sarah Camras and Brittany Harness beat Agostina Moran and Aurelie Rodriguez 8-2.
 
The Lady Tigers recorded wins at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles to take a 2-1 advantage headed into singles play.
 
Henderson's Sara Griffin received a default at No. 1 singles and the Lady Reddies were tied at 2-2.
 
Moran opened with a win at No. 5 singles over Henderson's Tyler Reaves 6-3 and 6-0, with Julia Municoy downing Hannah Watson 6-0, 6-1 at No. 2 singles to put ECU on top 4-2.
 
Rodriguez clinched the match for ECU by beating Harness 6-4, 6-3 at No. 4 singles.
 
Henderson State finished the season 4-13 on the season.
