Henderson State will attempt to claim a share of its third Great American Conference title in four years as the Reddies travel to Shawnee, Okla. to face Oklahoma Baptist on Saturday with kickoff set for 1 p.m.

The Reddies, ranked No. 9 in the latest AFCA Top 25, have a lot at stake this weekend. A win would not only clinch a share of a conference championship, but most likely assure Henderson a spot in the NCAA Division II playoffs for the third time in four seasons.

Oklahoma Baptist enters the contest with a 2-7 record following a 31-20 at Ouachita Baptist last week. The Bison after fell behind 21-0 but rallied to outscore the Tigers 20-10 in the final 40 minutes of the game.

OBU averages 307 yards of offense per game with 188.0 coming by way of the ground game.

Dez Stegall is the leading rusher and passer for the Bison this season with 379 rushing yards and 721 yards passing. The sophomore from Searcy, Ark. completed 7-of-16 passes for 52 yards against Ouachita.

Jacob Ellis will get his second start at running back, hoping to build on his 326 yards this season. Earlier this season the senior from Alva, Okla. had 211 yards on 25 carries against Northwestern Oklahoma.   Â
Demetri Turner leads the Bison receivers with 38 catches for 277 yards, while Derek Serowski has 20 receptions for 234 yards.         Â
The Bison defense allows an average of 36.44 points per game with the opposition averaging 449.9 yards of offense per game.
OBU's linebacker corps, which has led the team in tackles, tackles for loss and sacks is led by Zack Bishop who has 84 tackles including 4.5 stops for lost yardage.

Jailen Garrett follows with 72 tackles, while Brynden Pitzer has 63 stops including 7.0 for lost yardage. Levi Jennings leads the team in tackles behind the line of scrimmage with 7.5. D'Ante Meeking has a team-best four interceptions and five pass break-ups.

Henderson rolled to a 76-7 win over Southern Nazarene last week, running the Reddies' win streak to seven straight.

The Reddies totaled a season-high 535 yards of offense against the Crimson Storm, while the defense allowed just 165 yards while also adding three interceptions to the NCAA Division II leading total of 22.

Henderson's offense enters the game averaging 377.3 yards per contest including 165.6 yards on the ground.

Dallas Hardison completed 10-of-13 passes for 166 yards and three touchdowns in just four offensive series' last week against SNU. The junior from Bentonville has completed 158-of-257 passes for 1693 yards for a 61.5 percentage. Hardison's passing yardage this season ranks eighth in HSU history.

Andrew Black has also seen time at quarterback for the Reddies. Last week the freshman from Tyler, Texas completed 11-of-18 passes for a career-high 96 yards, while also having a career-best 73 yards rushing on six carries. For the season, Black is 17-for-33 passing for 154 yards and has totaled 163 yards rushing on 26 attempts.

Running back
Rodney Bryson was one of eight players to carry the ball last week. Bryson totaled 53 yards on five carries to run his season total to 225 yards on 52 attempts.            Â
JaVante Mack continues to be Henderson's top receiver with 38 receptions for 402 yards.
Mark Czaus follows with 221 yards on 26 receptions. Last week the senior from Garland, Texas caught his first touchdown pass of the year having a 24-yard score.
The Reddie defense has limited opponents to a GAC best 297.4 yards of offense including just 106.4 yards rushing per contest. The Reddie secondary leads the nation with 22 interceptions while having 58 pass breakups.

Josh Davis and
Lawson Schulz lead the Reddie defense with Davis having 70 tackles along with a team-best 9.5 tackles for lost yardage.

Schulz has totaled 67 tackles with 6.5 tackles for lost yardage as well as six pass breakups and five quarterback hurries.          Â
Henderson State currently has the longest road winning streak in NCAA Division II having won 20 consecutive games. Henderson's last road loss came on Oct. 29, 2011 to NCAA Division I opponent South Alabama. The Reddies are a perfect 21-0 in the GAC in road contests since the inception of the league in 2011.
