Box Score 2 Michelle Sorsensen pitched a no-hit shutout to lead Henderson State to a double-header sweep of Northwestern Oklahoma, Saturday in Russellville, Ark.
The Reddies, 18-6 overall and 9-3 in the Great American Conference, have won seven straight games. The series with Rangers had to be moved from Arkadelphia to Russellville due to poor field conditions and inclement weather.
After the Reddies claimed the opener 5-1, Sorensen took to the pitcher's circle in game two and kept the NWOSU off-balance the entire game.
The freshman from Sherwood, Ark. retired 15 straight batters before walking Stephanie Couser to lead off the sixth-inning. Sorensen then proceeded to retire the final six batters.
The GAC leader in wins and earned run average, Sorensen struck out six batters and became the first 10-game winner in the league this year improving to 10-4 on the year.
Ashlyn White provided the offensive support for Sorensen , as the sophomore from Longview, Texas hit two solo home runs in the game.
Tricia Hock provided the third run with a RBI double to score
Alicia Zack who singled following White's second home run of the game.
In the first game of the series, Henderson State jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first-inning.

Amy Halter and
Sarah Gipson combined for three straight singles with Hock scoring on Gipson's hit for the first run.
With one out,
Taylor Daniels drove in the second run with a bunt single to put Henderson on top 2-0.
The Reddies added two more runs in the third-inning as White blasted a two-out double to plate Halter and Daniels. Halter reached to lead off the inning on a bunt single with Daniels getting a base on balls later in the inning.
Halter collected her third hit of the game in the fifth-inning and later scored on a ground out by
Keirsten Seahorn to make the score 5-0.
NWOSU avoided the shutout as Shelby Anderson hit a solo home run in the seventh-inning.
White went the distance in the circle allowing just four hits and striking out five batters to improve to 7-2 on the year.
Halter ended the day going 5-for-6 at the plate with three runs scored, while White had two home runs, a double and four runs batted in to lead the Henderson offense.
The two teams will finish the series with a double-header Sunday at 10 a.m. in Russellville.
