The Henderson State tennis team lost a tough match to Delta State 5-4 Sunday in Arkadelphia, Ark.
The Reddies, 5-2 on the season, took a 2-1 lead winning two of three doubles matches.
Henderson's
Annie Shannon and
Amanda Korinihona cruised past Nathalia Sato and Charlotte LeFlohic 8-2 at No. 1 doubles to improve to 6-1 on the year.
At No. 3 doubles,
Sydnee Parker and Alexa Cuello Morillo beat Sara Alvarez and Celina Stracke 8-5.
Delta State would rally in singles play winning four matches.
At No. 1 singles, Shannon improved to 7-0 on the year with a 6-0, 6-2 win over Sato.
Henderson's other win came at No. 6 singles as Griffin got past Sophie Niemeyer 6-1, 7-6.
Korinihina went the distance with LeFlohic at No. 2 singles but fell short losing 6-3, 4-6, 6-4.
Henderson State will next face Central Oklahoma on Feb. 20 in Russellville at 1 p.m.
