Reddies Look for Conference Regular Season Sweep over Harding on Saturday

Henderson State will attempt to accomplish a regular season sweep of Harding for the first time since 2006 on Saturday, as tipoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. at the Duke Wells Center.

In the last meeting on Jan. 23, HSU defeated the Lady Bisons 66-62 in Searcy.

Dulincia Keener led the Reddies(10-9 GAC) with 15 points and nine boards in that contest, while Haleigh Henson had 14 points.

Victoria Stewart also added 13 points in the win, as Henderson finished the game shooting 39 percent from the field knocking down 22-of-57 shot attempts, while Harding  was 22-of-64 for 34 percent.

Sydney Layrock led Harding with 17 points, while A'ndrea Haney had 16 points.

Harding did out-rebound HSU 40-38, but in the turnover battle, HSU finished with 14 while HU had 15 miscues.

The Reddies also contributed 11 team assists while limiting Harding to 8.

HSU's last game was Thursday as the Reddies fell to Arkansas Tech 82-54 in Russellville.

Henderson State was led by Keener who had 19 points and six rebounds.

Moe Bedford pitched in 14 points in the losing effort, while Stewart added 11 points and dished out five assists.

The Reddies shot 39 percent from the field in the contest, making 22-of-56 attempts, while Arkansas Tech was 32-of-63 for 51 percent.

Arkansas Tech was led in that game by Fatima Adams who scored 28 points, and leads the GAC in scoring.

Harding comes in off a 71-70 home loss to Southern Arkansas on Thursday night in Searcy, and sport a 13-6 record in the GAC.

The Lady Bisons were led by Sydney Layrock who had 26 points, while Lundon Williams also had a strong game, having 15 points and seven assists in the contest.

SAU shot an impressive 52 percent from the field, and was led by Rosa Bryant who poured in 24 points on the night.

SAU also won the rebounding war, outrebounding Harding 33-to-29.

Harding leads the all-time series over HSU 26-24.

The first time the two schools played each other was in the 1984-85 season, as HSU took a 89-54 victory over the Lady Bisons.

Saturday's double-header will be carried on 106.9 FM KYXK Arkadelphia/Gurdon with R.J. Hawk (@RJHawk) providing the play-by-play.

 The Domino's pregame show will air at 12:45 p.m., fifteen minutes prior to tipoff.
