Henderson State battled Harding down to the wire, but the Bisons came out on top winning 5-4 Tuesday at the Bettye Wallace Tennis Center in Arkadelphia, Ark.

Henderson won two of the three doubles matches, but the Bisons rallied to win four singles matches to claim the victory.

At No. 1 doubles, Annie Shannon and Amanda Korinihona held off Harding's Piper Huey and Laura Golubic 8-5.

HSU's Sydnee Parker and Maddie McJunkins edged out Lexi Beaver and Emily Faulkner 8-6 to win at No. 3 doubles.

In singles play, Shannon gave HSU a 3-1 lead beating Piper Huey 6-3, 6-3 at No. 1 singles. With the win, Shannon improved to 9-1 on the year.

Harding would win at No. 2, 3 and 4 singles with all three matches going three grueling sets.

Laura Golubic held off Amanda Korinihona at No. 2 singles, 4-6, 6-4, 6-3, while Gabriella Alves got past Sydnee Parker  7-6 (7-2), 2-6, 6-1 at No. 3.

Brittany Smyser fought off Alexandra Cuello at No. 4 singles 6-4, 4-6, 6-3.

HSU's Mariah Bartlett would get past Arielle Butler 6-2, 0-6, 6-2 at No. 5 singles for the Reddies' other singles win.

At No. 6 singles HU's Emily Faulkner outlasted Sara Griffin 7-5, 7-6 (7-5) to claim the match.
