Henderson State dropped its opening Great American Conference match pf the season to East Central 6-3, Friday at the Bettye Wallace Tennis Center in Arkadelphia, Ark.
The Reddies, 7-6 on the season, opened the match winning a pair of doubles matches to take a 2-1 lead entering singles play.
Annie Shannon and
Amanda Korinihona took down Julia Municoy and Alex Makashov at No. 1 doubles 8-4, while
Sydnee Parker and
Maddie McJunkins beat Becca Richison and Srijita Ghosh at No. 3 doubles 8-6.
East Central took control in the singles play as the Tigers won five of the six individual matches.
Sydnee Parker was the lone Reddie to win a singles match as she got by Alex Makashov 6-4, 6-3 a No. 3.
Henderson will next travel to Searcy, Ark. on April 6 to take on Harding with the first serve set for 3 p.m.
