Henderson State will travel to Bentonville, Ark. this weekend to participate in the UAM D2 Softball Challenge beginning Friday.

The Reddies will begin the event with an 11 a.m. matchup against Pittsburg State, followed by a 2 p.m. game against Missouri-St. Louis.

Henderson will then take on Missouri Western on Saturday at 10 a.m. and play their final game at 1 p.m. against Northwest Missouri.

The Reddies enter the weekend with a 2-2 record after last weekend's Ronnie Hawkins Invitational.

Bethany Allen leads the team offensively with a .429 batting average after going 6-for-14 last weekend.

The junior from Mineral Wells, Texas had a double, triple, and home run while sporting a .857 slugging percentage.

Keirsten Seahorn and Salena Mendoza had four hits each last weekend with Seahorn driving in a pair of runs.

Michelle Sorensen, Henderson's all-time leader in pitching victories, was 1-1 last weekend which included a complete game win over Northeastern State. The junior from Sherwood, Ark. struck out five batters in the victory while allowing two hits.

Also expected to pitch for the Reddies is Cayleigh Guthrie who is also 1-1 this season. The freshman from Joshua, Texas, recorded her first collegiate win with an 8-1 victory over Lincoln. Guthrie fanned four batters and did not allow an earned run.  

Pittsburg State enters the tournament with a 5-1 record, while Missouri-St. Louis is 3-3 on the current campaign.

The Reddies will face Missouri Western for the second time this year after losing 4-0 last weekend. The Griffons are 4-0 entering the weekend.

Henderson's final opponent in the tournament, Northwest Missouri, will be playing its first games of the season this weekend.
