The Henderson State tennis team lost a Great American Conference match to Harding 7-2, Thursday at the Bettye Wallace Tennis Center in Arkadelphia.

Harding, ranked No. 6 in the Central Region, took a 3-0 lead winning all three doubles matches.

The Reddies took the Bisons to the limit both at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles.

At No. 1 doubles, HSU's
Annie Shannon and
Thea Minor fell behind early but tied the match at 6-6, However Piper Huey and Laura Golubic won the next two games to win the match 8-6.

Lorraine Banimataku and
Mariah Bartlett also came from behind at No. 2 doubles, tying the match at 8-8. However, Harding's Gabriella Alves and Brittany Smyser won the tiebreaker 7-5 to win the match 9-8.

Henderson claimed two wins in singles play with Banimataku beating Smyser at No. 4 singles 6-1, 6-4.

Also claiming a victory was
Lauren Miller at No. 6 singles by defeating Emily Faulkner 1-6, 6-3, 6-3.

Henderson will next take on Arkansas Tech on Saturday at the Bettye Wallace Center with the first serve set for 2 p.m.
