ARKADELPHIA, Ark. — Riding high after racing past defending Great American Conference champion Harding on Thursday night, the Henderson State women's basketball team returns to the Duke Wells Center on Saturday at 1 p.m. against Southern Arkansas, where it will look to keep its seven-game GAC winning streak alive.

Pink Jones poured in a career-high 29 points and Hailey Estes notched her fourth double-double in five games, as Henderson State defeated Harding 79-64 on Thursday evening to stretch its program-record Great American Conference winning streak to seven games. After leading by seven at the break, the Reddies ended the third quarter on an 18-9 run to take control of the game, then slammed the door on the Lady Bisons in the fourth to surge to 11-4 overall and 7-2 in GAC play.
- Jones was simply unstoppable for the Reddies all evening, finishing with a career-high 29 points on 12-of-18 shooting from the floor. Thursday marks the third time in the past five games that Jones has notched a new career-high in points. Estes continued her work on both ends of the court for Henderson, scoring 16 points and grabbing 10 rebounds for her fourth double-double in the last five outings. Henson had a magnificent third quarter, and scored 10 of her 12 points during the Reddies' big game-breaking run.Â
Torrie Thompson was the final double-digit scorer for Henderson and did a bit of everything, finishing with 11 points, seven rebounds and four assists.
- As a team, the Reddies shot over 48 percent from the floor and held the Lady Bisons to just 37.5 percent shooting for the game. Henderson also out-rebounded a much bigger Harding team 42-35 and out-scored them in the paint 40-28. The win makes it 10 of the last 11 for the Reddies and stretches HSU's program-record GAC winning streak to seven games, the second-longest streak in the conference this season by any team.

Pink Jones, with her career-high scoring output against Harding, has risen to fourth overall in the conference in scoring with an average of 16.4 points per game. Jones, one of the most dynamic players in the league, is now also eighth in the GAC in field goal percentage (48.5 percent), sixth in assists per game (3.5), ninth in steals per game (1.8) and eighth in assist to turnover ratio (plus 1.3).

Haleigh Henson averages 13.6 points per game (11th in the GAC), has hit 43 3-pointers this season (second-most in the conference) and is tied for first in the league in 3-pointers per game (2.9). Henson also ranks third in the GAC in minutes played, with an average of 34.3 minutes per game.

Hailey Estes has four double-doubles in the past five games for Henderson and now has five total for the season. Estes is second in the GAC in rebounding (9.2 per game) but first in defensive rebounds per game (7.3). She is also 21st in scoring (11.3 points per game) and has hit 31 3-pointers this season.

Bree Bossier is seventh in the GAC in blocks per game (0.9), 11th in field goal percentage (47.9 percent) and 19th in rebounds per game (5.5).
- The Reddies have the best defense in the GAC in almost every statistical category and hold opponents to just 63.2 points per game, four points fewer than the next best team, 36.7 percent shooting from the floor and 23.9 percent shooting from beyond the 3-point line, all of which rank first in the conference.
- Henderson is second in the conference in scoring margin (plus 11) and is one of just two teams with a scoring margin of double figures against league competition.
Scouting Southern Arkansas
- The Lady Muleriders are 3-12 overall and 2-7 in GAC games this season. They are led by head coach Julio Pacheco who is 28-41 in three years at the school.
- SAU is led by senior guard Sue Key, a transfer from DI Minnesota, who averages 13.7 points per game, and sophomore forward Kimberly Crown who averages 13.3 points and 8.1 rebounds per game while shooting 48.7 percent from the field.
- As a team, SAU ranks near the bottom of the GAC in both scoring offense (64.4 points per game/11th) and scoring defense (74.6 points per game/10th). The Lady Muleriders are last in the conference in scoring margin (-10.1).
- The Lady Muleriders struggle from the 3-point line and are hitting on just 22.1 percent of their shots from beyond the arc, but they are very active on defense and are No. 1 in the GAC in steals per game (9.7).
Last Season vs. SAU
-The Reddies swept the season series with SAU in 2016-17, taking the first game in Arkadelphia 81-70 and the second in Magnolia, Arkansas, 69-65.

- In the second matchup in Magnolia, Arkansas, the Reddies used a big second quarter run to gain control of the game, then withstood a late SAU rally to win 69-65 behind 23 points from
Hailey Estes. SAU shot a higher percentage from the field than Henderson (39 percent to 35 percent) but the Reddies out-rebounded the Lady Muleriders 47-38.
