RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. —
Lorish Puluspene was the story on the final day of the Great American Conference Individual Championships for Henderson State, as she got two wins on Sunday to win the Flight 3 consolation bracket.
Puluspene took an 8-3 decision against Haylee Cannon of Ouachita Baptist before defeating Kami Ward of Arkansas Tech 8-6 in a hard-fought consolation final. She finished 3-1 overall in Flight 3 over the course of the two-day event.
In Flight 4,
Lauren Miller claimed an 8-2 win over Ouachita Baptist's Taylor Hansard in the consolation semifinals but fell 8-2 to Maddie Boepple of Oklahoma Baptist in the title match.
After advancing to the Flight 7 semifinals with a win on Saturday, Cassie Berrier dropped a 6-1, 6-0 match to Arkansas Tech's Haeleigh Long on Sunday to end her run at the championships. Mikayla Braun also fell in the semifinals of Flight 6 to Stefy Varon of Oklahoma Baptist 6-4, 6-4. Corbie Adams and Jaci Ammons were both tripped up in their consolation matches in Flight 7, as Adams lost 8-3 and Ammons, 8-1.
