ARKADELPHIA, Ark. — After battling past Southeastern Oklahoma on Thursday night in overtime, the Henderson State women's basketball team looks to notch its fifth-straight win against East Central on Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Duke Wells Center.

Last Time Out
- The Reddies got a career-high 37 points from Pink Jones and held Southeastern Oklahoma State scoreless in overtime to fight past the Savage Storm 79-70 on Thursday night at the Duke Wells Center.

- Henderson (16-6, 12-4) controlled the overtime period from the start and got a bucket from Jones and an Estes 3-pointer to grab a 75-70 advantage less than two minutes in. Moments later, Haleigh Henson got a floater to fall and Jones added another layup to give Henderson full control and a 79-70 lead. That proved to be the final score, as the Savage Storm (9-12, 7-9) went 0-for-8 from the floor in the final five minutes and the Reddies surged to their fourth-straight win.

- Jones, who was magnificent for Henderson all night long, finished with a career-high 37 points and was 4-for-4 from beyond the 3-point line, with three of those shots coming in the fourth quarter. Estes and Henson both added 13 points with three 3-pointers apiece. Henson's three 3-pointers made her the Great American Conference's all-time leader in 3-pointers with 271 in her career. Bree Bossier also continued her strong play and chipped in eight points and 13 rebounds.

- The victory was the Reddies' 16th of the year; the most wins in a season for the program since 2007-08 when they won 19 as a member of the Gulf South Conference. Henderson is 12-4 in Great American Conference games and all alone in third place in the league standings, just one game behind Arkansas Tech and four full games ahead of fourth-place Ouachita Baptist. The top eight teams in the standings at season's end will go to Bartlesville, Oklahoma, to compete in the GAC Tournament March 1-4.

Reddies Report
- After pouring in 37 points on Thursday, Pink Jones is now averaging 17.4 points per game this season (18.4 in GAC play) and has scored in double figures in 18-straight contests. She has eclipsed a new career-high in points four times now since the turn of the calendar year. Jones is shooting 49.1 percent from the field this season.

- Bree Bossier has been on a tear the past two weeks for Henderson and continued that strong play on Thursday with eight points and 13 rebounds, while playing a season-high 36 minutes. She has recorded either double figure points or rebounds in the last six games for the Reddies and has notched double-doubles in three of those contests. Bossier, who is shooting 52 percent from the field this year, finished 4-of-9 from the floor in the win over SOSU, which is the first time in the last six games that she has not shot over 50 percent from the field.

- With her first 3-pointer on Thursday night, Haleigh Henson broke the GAC record for career 3-pointers with 269. Henson now has 271 3-pointers to her name and is averaging 13 points per game.

- Hailey Estes scored in double figures for the fourth-straight game on Thursday night with 13 points and three 3-pointers. Estes has been hot from beyond the arc recently and is 13-for-27 from three in her last four games.

- The Reddies have been clutch this season and have out-scored opponents by 60 points this year in fourth quarters (406-346).

Scouting East Central
- The Tigers enter Saturday's matchup 7-13 on the year and 7-10 in GAC action. They are led by head coach Matt Cole, who is 47-56 in four years at the helm of the ECU program. ECU has lost five of its last six games.

- ECU is led by senior guard Devon Branch, who averages 14.4 points and just over 30 minutes per game, as well as junior guard Lakin Preisner, who averages 13.1 points and 6.2 rebounds per game, while also shooting an astounding 96.4 percent at the free throw line (53-of-55 on the year).

- The Tigers are a good defensive team and allow just 69.5 points per game to their opponents. They struggle, however, to score the ball and rank near the bottom of the conference in scoring offense, with an average of just 65.1 points per game in GAC play, and field goal percentage (34.6 percent in league games).

- ECU loves to shoot the three and as of Thursday night, had taken 430 3-pointers this season — far and away the most in the GAC.  The next closest team has taken almost 50 less 3-pointers than the Lady Tigers this season.

First Matchup with East Central
- In the earlier matchup this season, Pink Jones hit two clutch free throws and a driving layup in the final minute, and the Reddies came up with two big defensive stops in the final seconds, to hold on and defeat East Central 82-78 in its first game of the calendar year.

- After leading by as many as 19 points in the third quarter, Henderson saw its lead gradually slip away over the course of the second half, as the Tigers rallied to seize a 72-69 advantage with just 2:47 to play in the game. With momentum fading, senior Haleigh Henson found herself open on the left wing and drilled a deep 3-pointer to tie things up at 72-72 with 1:48 to go. After ECU answered with a bucket on its ensuing possession, it was sophomore Hailey Estes' turn to find herself open and hit a big three, which she did, this time from the left corner, to give Henderson life and a sudden 75-74 lead with just 1:17 left.

- Two free throws on a foul gave ECU the lead back 76-75 with less than a minute to go on its next possession, but Jones, on a strong take, earned two of her own and knocked them down to give the Reddies the advantage once again 77-76. Refusing to relent in their own right, the Tigers answered again, this time on a layup with 31 seconds remaining to surge out in front 78-77. Jones, though, would make sure it was Henderson who benefited from the final lead change, as she got a driving, contested, left-handed layup to fall with 17 seconds to play in the game to push the Reddies back into the lead, 79-78. After a defensive stop and a free throw from Estes on the next trip down, Henderson needed one last stand, and got it, as the Tigers' layup went off the rim and into the arms of Estes, who canned two more free throws to ice it for the Reddies and seal the late comeback.
