HSU Softball to Host No. 10 Harding

Henderson State returns to Great American Conference softball action this weekend as the Reddies play host to 10th-ranked Harding in a four-game series beginning with a double-header Friday at Dee White Field with the first pitch set for 4 p.m.
 
The two teams will also play a double-header on Saturday beginning at 1 p.m.
 
The Reddies, 11-4 on the season and 3-1 in GAC play, rank third in the GAC offensively with a .325 batting average while scoring 5.7 runs per contest.
 
Lindsey Williams leads the team and is second in the GAC at the plate with a .515 average (17-for-33). The freshman from Conway, Ark. enters the series with a nine-game hitting streak.
 
Courtney Warren is hitting .395 (17-for-43), while Madie Green has compiled a .370 average (17-for-46) which includes four doubles, a home run and a team-best 16 runs batted in.
 
Henderson's pitching staff is led by Michelle Sorensen who has a 5-1 record with a 1.86 ERA. The senior from Sherwood has 29 strikeouts to her credit in 37.2 innings of work.
 
Sydney Bonner is 3-2 this year with a 2.75 ERA, while Kaitlyn Felder has a 2.19 ERA and a 2-0 record.
 
Harding enters the weekend with a 9-1 overall record and a 4-0 mark in GAC play after sweeping Southwestern Oklahoma last weekend.
 
Offensively the Lady Bisons are hitting .321 and average 5.3 runs per game.
 
Bailey Feringa leads the way hitting .448, while Peyton Mills sports a .438 average with eight runs batted in.
 
Madison Leggett is one of the Lady Bisons' top power hitters on the team with a .897 slugging percentage which includes three doubles, four home runs and 12 RBI.
 
Harding has the top pitching staff in the league with a team earned run average of 1.44.
 
Emily Garrett and Amanda Berry will be in the circle for Harding.
 
Garrett is 4-0 on the year with a 0.72 ERA. In 19.1 innings of work, she has struck out nine batters and allowed just two earned runs.
 
Berry has worked 35.0 innings and has a 3-0 record. Berry leads the team in strikeouts with 33 while having a 1.20 ERA.
