Reddies Suffer 8-1 Loss to Southeastern Oklahoma

DURANT, Okla. — Henderson State got off to a great start against Southeastern Oklahoma State on Thursday by winning No. 1 doubles, but the Savage Storm won the remaining eight contests to take the match from the Reddies 8-1.

The No. 1 doubles team of Annie Shannon and Sydnee Parker got the Reddies' lone win of the day against the defending Great American Conference champions, as they cruised past SOSU's Sandra Reljic and Nina Sergeev, 8-2. The win is the duo's sixth No. 1 doubles victory this season and their fourth win in the last five matches.

The Savage Storm, who reached the NCAA DII national quarterfinals last season, found their footing quickly after dropping the first contest of the day, and took No. 2 and No. 3 doubles to grab a 2-1 advantage entering individual play. In singles, Southeastern pulled away, as they took all six matches to lock up the win.

The Reddies (4-9, 2-3) final regular season match comes on Saturday at 3 p.m. against Arkansas Tech in Russellville, Arkansas. Henderson will compete in the GAC Tournament in Bentonville, Arkansas, on April 19-21.
