ARKADELPHIA, Ark. — The Reddies battled on Friday night against Oklahoma Baptist, but the Lady Bison proved to be too much, as they defeated Henderson 9-0 to stay unbeaten in Great American Conference play.
OKBU, the No. 41 team in the nation and No. 4 team in the Central Region, got off to a fast start and took both No. 2 and 3 doubles 8-1, to jump out in front 2-0 in the blink of an eye. The Reddies' No. 1 team of
Annie Shannon and Sydney Parker put up a fight, but ultimately fell 8-5, as the Lady Bison swept doubles to go up 3-0.
In singles,
Lorish Puluspene took the first set at No. 6, 6-3, but fell 6-1 in the second. In the super tie-breaker to decide the match, Puluspene fell behind early and dropped a 10-4 heartbreaker in the closest contest of the day.
Henderson (4-8, 2-2) returns to action on April 12 when it faces Southeastern Oklahoma State at 1 p.m. in Durant, Oklahoma.
