ARKADELPHIA, Ark. — Henderson State travels back to Oklahoma for the second time this season, when the Reddies face off against Southern Nazarene in Bethany, Oklahoma, at 1 p.m. on Saturday.

TOP STORYLINES: SETTING THE SCENE
- The Reddies have dropped three of their first four games to start the year for the first time since 2011. That season, Henderson rebounded from its 1-3 start to finish 6-4.

- Close games have been incredibly common for HSU over the last two seasons. In their last 15 games, dating back to the start of 2016, 11 of the Reddies' contests have been decided by one score or less. Henderson is 6-5 in those games.

- So far this year, the Reddies have struggled to run the ball, but have been terrific in their passing game. HSU is last in the GAC in rushing yards per game (93.8) but 13th in the country, and first in the conference, in passing offense per game (305.8)

- Southern Nazarene has had problems offensively through four games and is last in the GAC in total offense with an average of just 184 yards per game.

- This is the seventh meeting all-time between the two schools. HSU leads the series 5-1 after SNU got its first win ever over the Reddies last season, 42-24. The Reddies out-scored the Crimson Storm 333-46 in the previous five matchups.

REDDIES REPORT
- Quarterback Richard Stammetti has been a standout for the Reddies this season and currently leads the GAC in nearly every major passing stat. Stammetti is first in passing yards (1223), passing yards per game (305.8) and total offense per game (295.2), and is tied for second in the league with 10 touchdown passes. He is completing 54.5 percent of his passes and has thrown just three interceptions in 2018. Stammetti has thrown for 300 or more yards in three straight outings and ranks sixth in the nation in passing yardage. He is one of just eight quarterbacks nation-wide who has thrown for over 1200 yards so far this season.

- Three Henderson receivers rank among the top-five pass-catchers in the conference through four games: Ben Johnson, John Murray, and Chase Lodree. Johnson has caught 26 passes for 246 yards and four scores, Murray has 25 receptions for 378 yards and two touchdowns, and Lodree has caught 21 passes for 321 yards and three scores. Murray is second in the GAC in receiving yards and receiving yards per game (94.5). He has gone over 100 yards receiving for the last two games.

- With his number so far this year, Johnson has caught 93 passes for 1247 yards and 13 touchdowns in his career. He needs just 58 more yards and 12 more receptions to break into the Top-10 all-time in both categories at Henderson State.

- Linebacker Cameron Sonnier is tied for eighth in the GAC in total tackles (33). Sonnier also has an interception this season. Safeties Malik Brown and Bowen Sweeney are tied for 11th in the conference with 31 tackles each.

- Henderson's offense as a whole ranks in the upper half of the GAC. The Reddies are fourth in the conference in total offense (399.5) and are fifth in scoring offense (27.5 points per game).

- On the defensive side, the Reddies have struggled to find their footing. HSU is ninth in the league in scoring defense, allowing 34.2 points per game to opponents, and is 11th in total defense (461.5 yards per game).

- The Reddies are looking to avoid their first three-game losing streak since 2009 when they dropped their final four contests of the season before finishing 3-7. 2009 was Henderson's last losing season.

- HSU is the third-least penalized team in the conference through four games. The Reddies average just 49.5 yards in penalties per game as opposed to an average of 89 penalty yards per game for their opponents.

- Turnovers and sacks have hurt Henderson in 2018. HSU has the second-worst turnover margin in the league with five takeaways and 10 giveaways (-5). The Reddies have also allowed more sacks (14) than any team in the conference and have lost 95 yards due to sacks in four games.

- In the red zone, the Reddies continue to be excellent. Although its red zone scoring percentage is no longer 100 percent, Henderson still leads the GAC in red zone scoring percentage (87.5 percent) and has converted 14 of 16 red zone trips into points this season.

SCOUTING SOUTHERN NAZARENE
- Southern Nazarene enters Saturday's contest 1-3 on the season. The Crimson Storm have lost their last two games after beating East Central in week two, 45-20. In its three losses this year, SNU has been out-scored 101-10.

- The Crimson Storm are coming off of their most successful season since moving up to NCAA DII competition in 2017. SNU went 4-7 in 2017 and captured wins over Harding, Henderson State, East Central, and Northwestern Oklahoma. Prior to 2017, the Crimson Storm had won just three GAC games in their history. From 2013-2015, SNU lost 32-consecutive games.

- SNU is led by quarterback Jacob Spady, who has rushed for 259 this season and is 10th in the conference in rushing. Spady is just 15 for 52 for 188 yards through the air in 2018. Linebacker Myles Roll leads the defense and is tied for eighth in the GAC in tackles (33). Roll has 24 solo stops and 3.5 tackles for loss on the year.

- Offensively, the Crimson Storm have struggled this season. SNU is last in the conference in scoring offense (13.8 points per game) and last in total offense with an average of just 184 yards per game. They are the only team in the league who does not average at least 200 yards of total offense per game. SNU has only attempted 62 passes in four games this season and averages just over 57 passing yards per game.

- SNU's defense is what has kept them afloat thus far in 2018. The Crimson Storm rank sixth in the GAC in both scoring and total defense, and allow an average of 30.2 points and 368.5 total yards to their opponents.

LAST YEAR'S MEETING
- Southern Nazarene produced one of the biggest shockers of the season when they came into Carpenter-Haygood Stadium and Ruggles Field and defeated Henderson State 42-24.

- The game was tied 14-14 at the half, but SNU out-scored the Reddies 28-10 in the second half to run away with the win. Henderson out-gained the Crimson Storm 461-342 but threw three interceptions and were out-gained on the ground 192-143.

- In their win, the Crimson Storm were 9-of-14 on third down conversions and 3-for-3 on red zone scoring opportunities.

- Jacob Spady led SNU with 150 passing yards, 94 rushing yards on 20 carries, and four total touchdowns. Three different Crimson Storm receivers caught touchdown passes on the day.
