ARKADELPHIA, Ark. — Henderson State got its season off to a strong start on Friday afternoon when the Reddies eased past Christian Brothers 6-1 at the Bettye Wallace Tennis Center.
The Reddies started strong and won the doubles point in the match behind wins from their top two doubles teams. Mulan Kamoe and Franny Nyarko outlasted Judit Aubets and Laura Brazuelo of CBU 7-5 in No. 1 doubles, while Erica Jaggernauth and Lauren Miller claimed a 6-3 win at No. 2.
With a 1-0 lead, Henderson dominated the singles portion of the match and claimed all but one of the six individual contests to cruise to a 6-1 win in its first dual match of the 2019-20 year.
Friday represented the Reddies' only dual match of the fall. HSU returns to action on Feb. 3 against UT-Tyler at the Ward Tennis Center in Arkadelphia, Arkansas.
